I use computational social science methods to study the visual representation of social identity in political communication, with a focus in Mexico and the Latin American region. I am interested in exploring political actors’ usage of group appeals in visual media and voters’ group-based political preferences. At the Annenberg school, I am affiliated with the Center for Information Networks and Democracy (CIND), and the Politics, Identities, and Communication Lab (PICL).

I was born and raised in Mexico City, where I obtained a B.A. degree in Communication from Universidad Panamericana. After graduating college in 2018, I collaborated in numerous research consulting projects, mainly on gender and transparency issues. I worked in evaluating public policy programs for Mexican institutions such as the National Institute for Information Access and the National Judiciary. In 2021, I became a Fulbright-García Robles grantee.
